Service Details

We offer a comprehensive geo-environmental and geotechnical laboratory testing, usually as part of our intrusive investigations. All our laboratory tests are completed by independent UKAS and MCERTS accredited laboratories whom we work closely with to deliver accurate and reliable results as quickly and as cost effectively as possible. Our geotechnical laboratory tests are undertaken in accordance with BS1377:1990 “Methods of Tests for Soils for Engineering Purposes”.

The standard turnaround times differ according to the type and amount of testing required. However, we can provide a ‘fast track’ testing service of just a few days when required. Whilst geotechnical soil testing is being completed within 10-15 working days, geochemical soil tests are being completed within 5-7 working days depending on the nature of the scheme. Our services include Phase 1 Desk Studies, geotechnical assessment for foundations, excavation stability, drainage, slope stability assessment, pavement design and buried concrete design, settlement assessment, preliminary pile design, desiccation assessment, earthworks design and its supervision, reinforced slope design, gabion basket wall design, retaining wall design, anchored slope/wall design, CBR testing, long term groundwater monitoring, ground gas monitoring, geochemical assessments, contamination assessment, geo-environmental consultancy, Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC) testing or WAC testing, waste classification, pollution free topsoil validation, permeability testing or BRE 365 soakage testing for drainage strategies, soil testing, soil analysis test, soil sampling for infrastructure design as well as cost effective and compliant remediation solutions.

  • ACEC concrete class specification tests to BRE SD1:2015 (e.g. Water/Acid Soluble Sulphate, Sulphur Content, pH)

  • Chemical analysis on soils and water for contamination assessment (CLEA heavy metals, TPH, PAH, SVOC, VOC etc.).

  • Waste Classification

  • WAC testing

  • Asbestos identification and quantification

  • Topsoil re-use determination to BS3882:2015.
